The lower echelons of the School namely the 1st and 2nd years' have invested a delegation with the Authority to negotiate with the Management a rise in pocket money to counter inflation.

RAMBLING ' 74:

Last year, 8 boys from 4th year took part in a series of rambles, the boys were:- M.Parkinson, R.Christian, R.Taylor. D.Watson, P.Fieldirg. G.Pritchard. S.McDonald. C.Jones. They have been on three rambles, one over the Clees, the second in the Morville area and the latest was in the area of Caradoc. The route was planned by the 8 boys, it went up over the Caradoc and Lawley and back to Church Stretton. A few members of the Shrewsbury Rambling Club accompanied us, and we all enjoyed the ramble. - Mark Parkinson.

RUGBY MATCH 4TH UNDER 15'sAPLEY PARK V TETTENHALL COLLEGE 15TH JANUARY

They were a very clean team. Some good kicks from Mark Parkinson gained a lot of ground in the second half, only to be lost in the scrum. They were much more organised than we were because we only had a week to do training, they were also, better spirited than we were. The weather was bad, there, was a lot of wind, rain and mud. The pitch was very badly drained. - Stuart McDonald.

SUNDAY 26TH JANUARY.1975- UNDER 15 COUNTY RUGBY MATCH -MANCHESTER V SALOP

S.MoDonald, P.Fielding, G.Willis, M.P,arkinson, C.Piller, N.Hepworth. These people played in the under 13 County Rugby Match against Manchester. Although we gained a number of penalties throughout the game, Shropshire did not exploit the half-time score 0-0. Early second half Manchester made a break scoring a number of tries making the final score Manchester 17, Apley 3. S. McDonald.

NEW BOOKS FOR THE LIBRARY. Just recently, Mr. McNeill has purchased roughly one hundred books. It is estimated that roughly 80% are non-fiction. Assuming that there will be volunteers willing to help put protective coverings on the books, then they should be in circulation by half-term. Mr. McNeill requests boys to treat books with more care than is usual so that the current financial difficulties are not escalated by unnecessary expenditure.
